Why Volunteer?
Every hour helps a Ranger
High schoolers do not need chaperones the way little kids do, but the campus around them runs on more volunteer power than most families realize. Volunteering with the VRHS PTSA is how families stay connected through the four fastest years, and because we are a PTSA, students can join and volunteer too.
Why it matters
- Your student still benefits from you being around, even at arm’s length. Teens whose families stay involved do better in school, and senior year arrives faster than you think.
- Teachers and staff feel it. From staff appreciation to the small everyday things, volunteers make a two-thousand-student campus feel like a community.
- Students can lead. PTSA membership is open to students, and volunteering is real service, the kind worth writing about later.
- It is genuinely flexible. One event, one hour, or one tray of snacks for the staff lounge: everything counts.
Get approved first
Leander ISD asks every school volunteer to complete a quick application before helping on campus. Complete the district volunteer application, allow up to two weeks for approval, and then sign up for whatever fits your schedule.
